Access all areas
We are all only one moonboot away from accessibility becoming a major concern. That’s why our in-house Architect, Helen Marchesani, considers mobility from the start. For multi-level homes like the Lookout House, which has its main living area upstairs, we often include a lift – or at the very least, a lift well provision that serves as storage until needed.
Where possible, we take advantage of rear lane access to create an alternative garage entry with minimal to no steps. For homes with a dramatic staircase facing the street, you will find there is always an easily accessible entry for the owners to use on a daily basis.
We routinely incorporate wide passageways, flush thresholds and generous circulation spaces into our projects – not only for aesthetics but to ensure accessibility for all.
Flexible spaces for evolving lifestyles
Our homes are designed to adapt. We create rooms that can shift purpose over time. Recent projects have included guest suites that can be zoned as self-contained apartments; a gym that can become a granny flat; an art studio that can convert into two additional bedrooms; and a heritage renovation with dual main entrances, allowing the option of two residences under one roof.
We use zoning, custom joinery and layout strategies to allow spaces to open up or close down depending on your needs. This flexibility is especially valuable for accommodating multi-generational living or in-home care.
In the Lookout House, the front of the home is zoned for guests and visiting family. The lift acts as a divider, bisecting the ground floor into public and private areas. The main living quarters are at the rear of the home and upstairs, and can be closed off from the front to preserve privacy.

We have a tight-knit team of trusted trades who have worked with us for decades, overseen by our experienced Site Supervisors who are all self-confessed perfectionists.
To ensure your home will always feel as good as it looks, our Architect designs with comfort and energy efficiency in mind. Solar passive design and cross-ventilation are embedded in the architecture.
In the Lookout House, we’ve taken advantage of the site’s long northern boundary to flood the home with natural light. Louvres throughout can be opened for cross ventilation, allowing the home to cool naturally. And to protect the upper floor ‘lookout’ from the harsh afternoon sun and south-westerlies, we’ve wrapped it in layers of sun protection, including deep balconies, operable louvres and custom screens.
