INFORMATION
Every Humphrey Homes project begins with a blank page - the form takes shape as our in-house architect explores the intersection between the client’s brief and the site’s possibilities. For this home, the brief was for a sophisticated, playful and edgy design with strong street presence that maximises park and ocean views.
The site set the tone. Its natural contours inspired the home’s distinctive curved terraces, balconies and roofline. These sweeping forms aren’t just aesthetic - they follow the fall of the land, allowing the home to achieve height within planning limits.
Terraces at both the front and rear embrace the home like two arms, opening up views while offering privacy from neighbours. From the street, the home reads as sculptural, yet every curve has purpose.
Inside, the story unfolds vertically. The ground floor is the kids' zone. Beyond the main entry are two bedrooms with ensuites, and a rumpus room that opens to the swimming pool. On the upper floor, the parents’ retreat and entertaining spaces take centre stage. The home culminates in a roof terrace that feels like a rooftop bar - an elevated escape with ocean views to Rottnest.
The owners wanted the ability to host on a grand scale and the two upper levels work together to form an ‘entertainment bubble’. Spaces open seamlessly, allowing gatherings to flow between inside and out, from terrace to rooftop. The entertainment zones are layered like a Mediterranean terrace, but with an urban sophistication.
Materiality reinforces the intent. Polished concrete and textured finishes give the home a contemporary edge, anchoring the organic forms in strength and permanence.
From a blank page to a sculptural dwelling, this is architecture shaped by location and lifestyle.
