INFORMATION

This forever home with forever views sits atop one of City Beach’s highest peaks. The 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home with 4 living areas over 3 levels, has been designed to enjoy 180-degree views from all areas.

Its form is a series of stacked modules, carved into the sloping site. The home’s heavy base is offset with the warmth of timber-lined eaves wrapping from outside to inside, literally drawing you in to the residence and setting the tone for what is to come.

Designed and built by Humphrey Homes, this is a residence with generous proportions and multi-generational connectivity with added drama in materiality to deliver a home that is high energy with restraint.

The north facing and exposed nature of the site means we purposely protected the main living and alfresco from the elements and created an alternate living space away from the ocean.

To achieve the best views and to manage the challenging site, we used a drone during the design stage to identify what the views would look like at differing heights and perspectives. We then used that to inform the design’s orientation and proportion, through a series of hand sketches, to ensure the best viewing corridor.

Being a forever home, it enjoys full appreciation of all the extras including a pool with integrated circular spa and built-in bar stools, a fire pit and 3-hole putting green. Multi-generational considerations include a lift for ease of access at every life stage, each bedroom has an ensuite, and the large kitchen and scullery offer interconnect-ability with other zones for integration.
