Cottesloe builder recognised with tenth 2015 HIA award. Peace of mind for clients at heart of WA Professional Small Builder Award

8 Dec 2015

Adding to a  remarkable run of awards for Cottesloe architects and luxury home builder Humphrey Homes which has seen them recognised ten times during the past month in the Housing Industry Association’s (HIA) prestigious 2015 awards, Dean Humphrey said the award he and his team were most proud of was their latest because it was the award that offers peace of mind for clients.

The 2015 HIA Western Australian Professional Small Builder/Renovator Award recognised the group’s high standards, leadership in project management and the building systems that underpin the operation.

Mr Humphrey said the submission for this award is ‘a beast of a document to complete’ because it is so comprehensive which is part of what makes it such a valuable benchmark for clients.

“It is essentially a detailed business plan that includes client management systems, estimating systems, project management, leadership, mission and vision statements, company values, industry involvement and best practice systems, all the business fundamentals of an effective and reliable building company that consumers are generally not aware of when they look at the finished homes produced by builders.

“Yet these systems are like the heart or brain that allows the rest of the body – the company - to work well.”

Mr Humphrey said  the latest award was great recognition of the company’s critical functions and should provide confidence and peace of mind to clients as it reflects the systems, procedures and skilled people in a builder’s office who form the foundation of a good building company.

“Homes built on site simply cannot be created efficiently and to a consistent high quality without efficient systems and key people to manage them,” added Mr Humphrey.

“We are very proud to have received this professional small builder’s award from the HIA.

“Innovation and great design and construction are what clients expect from their builder and we’re very pleased to have also been acknowledged with awards for this, particularly in being named Perth Residential Building Designer of the Year, but it is the professionalism and systems backing up the design and construction that provides the reassurance clients seek,” said the luxury home builder.

The practice which combines architecture and construction under one roof has been recognised in 2015 as:
