A registered architectural practice since 2012, Humphrey Homes recently announced it was adding another string to its bow.

The decision to bring the task of interior design in house was made to ensure the company’s designs reflected its overall culture and vision.

Humphrey Homes Director Dean Humphrey said the addition to the Humphrey Homes roster would ensure a more cohesive process.

“The main reason we wanted an in-house interior designer was to get them immersed in our culture and in the passion we all have for each and every home we design,” he said.

“Having someone as part of the team means they are involved in every conversation and there is better synergy.”

Joie Stevenson has joined the design team, headed up by in-house architect Helen Marchesani.

Ms Stevenson brings with her a wealth of experience, including 12 years of working in interior design, and said she was excited to join the team at Humphrey Homes.

“I have been a huge fan of Humphrey Homes for a while now and have followed them closely within the industry” she said.

“Working alongside Dean and Helen and the team at Humphrey Homes is a fabulous opportunity to spread my wings and be a part of the superb designs coming through.

“Helen’s designs are often intriguing, exciting and quite dramatic.  As a designer, these are dream spaces to work with.

Working on really well thought out homes where you can take the time to decide the perfect material, finish or fixture to create the refined aesthetics of our homes is a luxury.  It is the this detail that elevates these spaces to an exceptional level.”

As Humphrey Homes builds bespoke homes, custom designed to suit the needs of each specific client, the inclusion of the interior designer in the setup will be dependant on the requirements of each project.

At the very least, out interior designer will be available for advice, and on large, more complex projects, we expect she will be required at a deeper and more sophisticated level,” Mr Humphrey said.

Having an architect and interior designer on hand through the whole design and build process gives clients the ability to discuss ideas with professionals who do this every day.

“It gives our clients greater peace of mind.”

Employed as a project manager and interior designer in her previous role, Ms Stevenson said she gained a great breadth of construction knowledge which would be an added benefit to Humphrey Homes’ clients.

“I am also details-driven and love the challenge of working out the smallest details to give the best possible finish for a home,” she said.

“After all, the devil is in the detail.”
