Embracing a contemporary cubic form and textural materials, this is a home that is discreet in character and bold in aesthetics.
Engaging beautifully with its 12m wide site, it delivers mystery and maintains privacy from the street while cleverly using expressive texture to address its environment.
Designed by Humphrey Homes in-house design team led by Helen Marchesani, the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is purposely introverted and deliberately striking.
“At its core, this is a pared back design with a purposeful presence and will provide the owners with an effortless lifestyle making entertaining the focus,” Helen said.
“This is a strongly zoned home that is essentially an apartment on the ground. However, it still enjoys the provision for ancillary accommodation on the upper floor when needed,” Helen said.
The home merges both sun and ventilation to respect solar passive principles and connects to the outdoors with courtyards and alfresco living.
“This is a very liveable light and bright home that uses the courtyard to provide every room with an aspect to the outdoors.
Texturally the home uses rammed concrete and custom-made slatted timber baton cladding to provide an unapologetic street presence.
The warmth of the exterior is carried inside with rich tones of open timber treads anchoring a dark steel spine stairwell connecting the two floors.
The interior speaks to a simple, sleek and functional brief. It is deliberately clean and understated with high end finishes in the kitchen and includes built-in furniture to the study.
